1) General dentistry practice and teaching. Able to practice general dentistry and
supervise dental students and oral hygiene students in all dental sciences and
specifically in periodontics.
2) Initiating, tutoring, and developing problem based learning
programs (PBL). Through working as a PBL tutor, being a member in case reviews
and case writing panels, a member in PBL assessment and triple jump
examinations and attending one year workshop to prepare new faculty to practice
PBL teaching modality. This involves experiences in selecting, training,
supervising and evaluating medical and dental staff.
3) Conducting workshops and seminars for faculty developments. These
include PBL training workshops, developing and using study guides and effective
lecturing workshops.
4) Classroom, curriculum and organizational assessments programs
through working with Dr. Nancy Chism*,
Dr. Trudy Banta*, and Dr. Larry
Garetto* the Associate Dean for Dental
Education. This involves evaluation of existing and developing programs to
improve teaching among faculty and students. This also involved the ability to
develop definitions, goals and plans that aim to plan, implement and improve
assessment of higher education.
5) Student and faculty development through the implementation of
classroom activities and curriculum planning that enhances the students
experiences and improve the learning process. This involves the understanding
and using of student development theories.
6) Planning and developing existing curriculums to enhance the
educational experiences. The work involves the training and implementation of
classroom assessments techniques (CATs)
7) Ability to evaluate and plan the political dimensions of
decision making and planning, managing and financing student affairs facilities
and services.
8) Ample experience in training and practicing discussion
strategies, lecture strategies, enhancing students’ learning and motivation,
and testing and grading strategies.
